Monte Baldo

The Incredible Monte Baldo , or rather the chain of Baldo , extends from Nago- Torbole to Affi over 45 km along the shores of Lake Garda . He belongs to the seven European wonders not only for its endemic and unique plants, but also because of the diversity of fauna and flora in a climate which is mediterranean on the lake and up to 2200 meters alpine. In the botanical garden at Ferrara di Monte Baldo are about 700 species to see , the majority to find here and discovered by botanists in the past centuries for the first time . You can reach the Monte Baldo comfortably with the modern cable car , which leaves from Malcesine, or walk on one of the many marked trails . Or take the mountain bike and use the for -signposted trails . In the mountain huts on the mountain peaks , such as the Refuge Damiano Chiesa in the area of Nago- Torbole, typical local dishes such as barley soup or dumplings are served. The cheese in the pasture of Baldo is famous , as well as the surprising truffle of Baldo , which accompanies many restaurants saltwater fish, risottos and delicious meat.
